Description
This class features a classic hatha-based sequence with a comprehensive flow of balancing, forward bending, backward bending, twisting, lateral stretching, and inversion poses. Suitable for all beginners.
Start with some dynamic movements for the shoulders, chest, upper body, and spine. Then flow into some balancing poses, such as the one-legged chair pose and a tree pose, which help improve body awareness and coordination. This is followed by hip-stretching poses, including lunge poses with backward bending and twisting, and the pigeon pose. These poses are good for bowel movements.
The second half of the class focuses on some seated twisting, lateral stretching, and forward bending poses, which improve joint mobility and blood circulation, and stretches the nerves along the spine. Conclude with an inversion pose or a headstand, and the energising breathing practice, bhastrika.
