Description
This two-hour class with a focus on the hips and hamstrings will give you a better understanding of hip anatomy and its movements, while helping you release tension and tightness in those areas. Suitable for all levels.
Our hips are capable of external and internal rotations, flexion, extension, abduction and adduction. Most poses are a combination of these movements. By knowing them, you will also know how to identify your limitations.
Walls and yoga blocks are used throughout the class to stretch the hips and hamstrings effectively. Connect breathing with movements, and lengthen the back while stretching the hips and hamstrings. Hip strengthening poses like squeezing a block during the chair pose, eagle pose, and goddess pose are crucial for balance.
After the practice, you will have a deeper understanding of yourself and your body, and learn techniques that will be useful as your practice grows.
