Description
This two-hour class focuses on twisting poses to help restore the spine's natural range of motion, cleanse organs, and stimulate circulation. This class will give you a better understanding of body anatomy while guiding you on different twisting movements. Suitable for all levels.
Begin with a complete warm-up of the shoulders, upper back, hips, wrists, and ankles. Side body stretch is a crucial pose in lengthening the upper body to prepare one's body for twisting.
The class will introduce gentle lateral twisting, binding, and balancing twisting, followed by the revolved chair pose, which opens the shoulders and upper body. Then flow into various seated twisting poses, like the revolved head to knee pose; and standing poses like the revolved triangle pose, and the revolved side angle pose with binding hands for a deeper twist. Progressively prepare yourself for more challenging twisting poses, like the grasshopper pose and one-legged balancing twisting chair pose, which require arm and leg strength. End with gentle hip rotations and stretching to release any lower back tension.
After the practice, you will have a deeper understanding of your body to advance your practice. You will learn how to prepare yourself for deep twisting poses, which help you feel de-stressed and detoxed.
