Description
In this two-hour class, you will open your hips and hamstrings through a sequence of movements, aiming to increase mobility in those areas and to improve postures. You will then learn how to prepare yourself for more challenging poses.
Begin with dynamic warm-ups of the shoulders, upper back and hips. Followed by standing hip-opening poses like spider pose with variations to stretch the inner thighs and inner groin; some more kneeling and seated hip, quadricep and hamstring stretches before going into advanced postures. Breathing is emphasised. Follow your body sensation and address your limitation.
After the practice, you will learn postures with a combination of hip external and internal rotations, flexion, extension, abduction and adduction.
